Breaking news! Rush Limbaugh, broadcaster and right-wing pundit has been rushed to a hospital in Hawaii. Early reports have his condition as "critical". We are awaiting word to gather more details, but obviously millions of people are concerned, and wish for good news.
I realize what a catalyzing figure he is, and also what a beloved broadcaster he is, but whether you like him or not, he has a huge following and is always politically relevant.
I will update this story as more news pours in.
Good Luck Rush, our collective prayers are with you in this battle!

To paraphrase, I predict the health care bill won't be passed before Limbaugh's death.

you took it the right way, Mike...boons, no surprise from you. :(
- 6 votes
I meant it in exactly the way Rush Limbaugh meant it when he said it about Kennedy. Which of course, according to Limbaugh, was nothing but benevolent.
:)

Vol, I offered up my comment in the same spirit as Limbaugh offered his. Are you saying Limbaugh was being cruel when he said that about Kennedy? You couldn't be saying that. I refuse to believe it.
- 14 votes
Well, perhaps I'll be as right as Rush?!
Either way, I wish him as well as he wished Kennedy.
:)

care to give a link, boons? I have no idea what you are talking about.

"Most people, when told a family member's been diagnosed with the kind of cancer Elizabeth Edwards has, turn to God. The Edwardses turned to the campaign. " - Rush Limbaugh
Has Limbaugh turned to God yet? I certainly hope he isn't turning to politics and trying to become a martyr, Mike. That would be wrong, as stated by Rush in the quote above.
- 9 votes
No need for context. He meant his comments in just the same vein I do. In a good way, of course. Naturally.
Why all the agita over my well wishes?

Never mind, boons, I found it on my own - Here it is:
RUSH: We'll have that full bite coming up in just a second. But let's go back, shall we? "Controversy over what Rush Limbaugh said about "Brave Elizabeth," and then they have the bite. "Most people, when told a family member has been diagnosed with the kind of cancer Elizabeth Edwards has turn to God. The Edwardses turned to the campaign." I said that. You heard me say it. But the context was in the discussion of how all political people are different from other people, and there were all kinds of phone calls from people that day who said they didn't understand it. When their family members got cancer, they gave up work or maybe they came to work but they spent as much time with the kids as possible, especially if they were young because they weren't going to see 'em graduate from haskrool, walk down the aisle or get married, or any of this sort of thing. Callers did not relate or understand it. I was trying to explain that political people are a different breed. The quest for the presidency is a huge, huge thing -- and, by the way, what's wrong with saying politics is their religion? That's where they did turn.
he was talking about the campaign, when Elizabeth was diagnosed again with the terminal type ( of course, we know now why he returned to the campaign trail - Elizabeth didn't matter to him as he was busy having an affair and a child by another woman). I get so tired of doing your job, guys.

And I repeat....I wish Limbaugh the same level of sentiment and emotion he showed toward Mrs. Edwards and Senatory Kennedy.
Why the furor over me reflecting his kind sentiments back upon him?
- 11 votes
you keep repeating yourself, boons, and looking foolish doing so....but go ahead, keep it up! Makes no difference to me.
- 6 votes
You are the one who seems to be insinuating that Rush Limbaugh didn't wish anyone well. Why is that? Why don't you pull up where I said anything cruel about Limbaugh? I'll wait.
- 10 votes
Really, boons? That is funny. I just put in context your misleading statement. Anyway, think it best not say anything more to you boons, regarding this subject...it seems what I said is coming true
and looking foolish doing so
post 8 maybe. I don't want to facilitate.

How do you think the health care debate might be affected if Rush does die?
We could see a precipitous drop in drug prices.

For boons and the rest of the libtards: comparing Rush and Ted Kennedy is akin to comparing Winston Churchill and Philby the spy. One was (is) a poweful statesman loved by millions, who cares about individual freedom and fighting against tyranny--and the other is a criminal who got by through the protection of individuals high up in government and financial circles. Ted Kennedy should have been rotting in jail instead of running for Senate back in 1969. Rush has inspired millions of people to take part in their country's future and has inspired millions to works of charity and support for the less fortunate. Ted Kennedy and the rest of the entitled class have put our country in the mess we now find it. We'll just have to start the cleanup in 2010.
Best wishes to Rush--hurry back!

thank you, Sam...I just hate it when people put misleading crap out there.
- 2 votes
vol fan....boons has made his point very clear and concise, why do you think that Rush should get more consideration than Ted Kennedy in this matter? If you compare the two there IS NO comparison! Ted in even in death is ten times the man Rush is or could ever be, but if Rush would have used his platform for truth and facts then I think he would get equal consideration. But you cannot accept boons honest calm answer because he did not osculate Rush's tooshy or YOUR tooshy enough! And in that YOU are the one who looks truly foolish here!...I'm just sayin'

read the rest of the posts (esp. 8).
tooshy
I don't know what word that is? As to the rest of your post ...anyways.
- 3 votes
vol fan...never heard the word huh? That does not surprise me! you know so little of the real world that is no surprise...and "anyways" means that you have no substantive response to my comment because as usual you have been shut down by reality!
Well, I hope he is okay. My prayers are with him.

I'm not praying for this fool as long as his underlings are praying for Obama to fail--to hell with the pompous gas bag.

Rush certainly had quite a lot to say upon Kennedy's illness. He also had a bit to say about Elizabeth Edwards. I extend the same courtesy and well wishes to Limbaugh that he extended toward Elizabeth Edwards.

Having engaged in polite discourse with Bombadil several times before, I can say that he is one of the best-hearted people on the Vine, regardless of his politics. Unfortunately, he is not representative of the average modern conservative.

Save us all the hassle bill davis, and leave now! The less Marxists we have to jail later, the easier it will be on the taxpayers who have already been severely over-burdened since the Kenyan took over the White House.

Hopefully he can get adequate health care in that foreign land. (Everyone knows that you can get excellent medical care only in America.) Hawaii is not actually part of the United States, you know.
A Republican strategist told me so.

We can be sure of one thing when it come's to Rush. It could not possibly have been a HEART attack.
- 7 votes
It's no heart attack....he doesn't have one! I wonder how he's going to blame the Dems for this!!!!
maybe he saw Obama on the links and he was running away as fast as he could - I could say more but I 'll leave it at that.

Hey I turned that hateful sob over to God a long time ago.....I knew he'd give him a pay back. May Hell welcome him! His drug abuse and fat finally caught up with him.

Which Kennedy are you referring to?
- 2 votes
Chest pains? We know it's not his heart because he doesn't have one. Funny how he wanted to imprison all drug users except for himself. It would be a scream if his insurance dropped him for a pre-existing condition. He would be bathed in the hospital by an illegal immigrant. Got a blood transfusion from a person of color. Welcome to our world big man. So if anyone is looking for SYMPATHY for this man; you will find it in the dictionary between @!$%#and SYPHILIS.

Pllllease. If I had to categorize myself, I'd definitely say I was a "Lib". But, that was just a good quip!
Thanks, I try to keep a little humor in these potentially inflammatory conversations.
...and with somewhat of a fair hand to boot.

If Limbaugh is wise, he'll finally listen to the advise of his physicians and cut back on the fatty foods, throw out the cigars, and learn to discuss politics in a civil manner without going on a gut-wrenching, hyperbolic tirade every time he goes on the air.
- 2 votes
I think I heard he had lost 50+ lbs and was doing a tread mill daily...maybe a little late.
- 3 votes
Vol, right on the weight loss dead wrong on the treadmill. He tested the one he bought for guests, ONE TIME, and said it was even more boring than most forms of excercise he makes it a hobby to avoid. BTW, for those who have stated it earlier, he has NO insurance, other than what is provided by his conpany. He maintains that he can afford whatever he needs. I think he is probably correct.
- 2 votes
oh. my bad, thatnks for setting it straight. BTW, I heard on TV today that he had lost nearly 90 lbs over the last several months.
- 4 votes
While I may fervently wish he lose the ability to speak into a microphone, I wish no real ill will to the man. May he make a full and healthy recovery and find the rest and relaxation he needs in retirement.
Oh man I so hope he doesn't die that dude is funnier then hell. Also the people that accurately believe his lies scare the crap out of me. I doubt they will accept he just died. I see bombings and mass shooting in Rush's name and other such insanely because they want to believe "teh evil liberals" killed him.

Rush Limbaugh's chest pain possibly happen after he realized he could no longer use politically-oriented sarcasm to laugh about Democrats WHEN-- (House and Senate bills on health care reform were each passed in time for Christmas. The Senate version costs $871 billion but would expand coverage to more than 94 percent of Americans under the age of 65, including 31 million who are currently uninsured) .
What Is happening to Americans Is Not so Funny anymore-

I have real mixed feeelings here. Having had a heart attack, I wouldn't wish one on anyone except like our buddies Kim or Imanutjob or Osama or any of the terrorist bombers. So, what I'm struggling with is where Limpballs fits in this. Is he a scummy enough piece of sheet like Mamoud to hope he dies painfully or is he human enuf to wish him well?
It appears he has quite an audience, even here on the vine. Look at all the posts. I listen to Rush every day during my lunch hour. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Happy New Year to all!!
- 2 votes
SO...Whom are they trying to fool by using a photo of the pig instead of using a photo of the real fat pig that he is?
Not long ago Rush realized his weight had become a noticeable problem and, unlike scores of others in the fat camp, actually succeeded in doing something about it which actually seemed to have enraged his snotty little detractors even more.
It's dishonest for news organizations to use photos of Rush when he was overweight for current stories.
Am I a conservative? No. A Republican? No. Do I always agree with the man? No. But he keeps other's feet to the fire, asks hard questions and pokes holes in the left's dogma ... something that no one seems to want to do these days.
I wish Mr. Limbaugh well, a speedy recovery and a long life.

Funny, HuffingtonPost is running quite a nice, recent, picture of Rush Limbaugh now that he is ill.
Usually they use the worst most unflattering image that they can find.
May he find release from the "pills" he takes for his "back".
- 3 votes
I do not wish ill will on Rush.........but I read something elsewhere that was kind of funny.
Rush will be OK.......He just choked on some of his own Bull-Sh!t.
I used to work with a gal desperate to lose weight for a big vacation to Greece. She started taking some diet pills, lost a lot of weight and had a massive stroke about 2 weeks before her departure. Very sad.
Rush has lost a lot of weight lately. Of course, I'm just speculating. But some of these diet aids are bad for your health. I wondering if there's a contributing factor here?
